Hello everyone and welcome to another A.S.S. BLOG!
News at the studio this week…
It is set in stone that 5one6ix Gallery will be holding the next art opening on SATURDAY MARCH 12TH. The gallery opening will be starting at 7pm and doors will be closing at 10pm. Unlike the last event that we had a Crocodile Rock Cafe, this show will be held inside of ART N SOUL STUDIOS at 5one6ix Gallery located at 516 W. Hamilton St. Allentown.
5one6ix Gallery will be exhibiting the artwork of Eric Eyeball Richardson and Sienide.
Eric Eyeball Richardson was born in a small town in Northwest Indiana. As a young man, while out watching the corn grow, his imagination overtook his notebooks. With prompting, his studies illustration at the American Academy of Art (1996) and then fully re-located to Chicago.
In addition to becoming
accomplished in over-sized set-design, Richardson exhibited public and commercial murals and sculptures both regionally and nationally. Combining these skills, a hell of a lot of left over childhood imaginings, and inspiration form the (ever popular) low brow art movement, he created what you see in his artwork.
As an artist, Richardson wants to encourage the viewer to follow the movement of paint and feel the radiating power that lies underneath vibrant color. A can of spilled paind and clobs of erratic color at a prop studio can inspire a new painting.
SIENIDE is an Artquarian who celebrates his birth date with Charles Darwin’s and Abraham Lincon’s birthdays on February 12th, 197Something. Born in the city of New York to
Caribbean parents.
Documenting the streets of New York from and early age, SIEN’s life and art has been influenced by the graffiti, poverty, and the tuff love New York is know for. SIEN records his daily missions of life thorough a combination of mediums including illustration, graffiti, and a wide-range of multimedia. SIEN is an illustrator and a Professor currently teaching digital media arts at TCI College in New York City.
A re-instated writer since 2008, SIEN’s work as graced the rural walls of the Bronx, painting masterfully illustrated murals in neighborhoods where he spent most of his childhood years. With over a dozen public murals scattered within the five boroughs of NYC, SEIN’s work remains in public eye engaging a younger generation of street art enthusiasts with abstract compositions and mood altering color.
